Yes, I believe the government was conducting a cloaking experiment on the USS Eldridge... this being the first stage of stealth technology development that was ushered in by Nikola Tesla. After the Philadelphia experiment went so awry, funding was cut and in later years as technology developed covertly, the project was continued at the Montauk location, surrounded in secrecy and kept hidden from many higher ups in government ! It is complete nonsense. Technology was not sufficently advanced in 1943 to do anything anywhere close to this. Compare aircraft technology between 1943 and now. Compare aotomotive technology between then and now. Compare our understanding of nuclear power, of subatomic particles. Unified Field Theory was in it's infancy in 1943 and even now, we don't have a full understanding of it, much less know how to use it. They didn't even know to try to pursue it using quantum theory back then.
We are just STARTING to scratch the techology in laboratories now. And current ';cloaking technologies do not use field theory, they use metamaterials, and experiments are with small items, not a big ship.
