Design a true experiment to test the theory that exposure to violence in the media causes an increase,,,?

...causes an increase in aggression. I'm supposed to start out by stating a well-formed hypothesis. Then I'm to identify the independent and dependent variables at both a conceptual and an operational level.





This is for my social psychology class. Can someone help me in getting this paper started??Design a true experiment to test the theory that exposure to violence in the media causes an increase,,,?
You could do something like, after watching certain segments of television getting people to write down how they feel (sad about war? does it make them angry? does it barely effect them?) and rate it from 1 - 10.





Then, explain what emotions can lead to certain kinds of actions (look up case studies? emotions linked to actions) and talk about how it makes people feel, and in turn, how it effects their actions and judgments.





In the hypothesis state any Research that you may have found on how people react/how their judgment is clouded by different kinds of emotion, and state that evoking this emotion through watching television can be harmful.





You could also talk about how it desensitizes people to violence, and therefore making it more of a 'normal' thing, integrating it into peoples lives.
